As I opened the sliding glass door to let the dog in, I happened to glance up the hill behind our house. At first I thought it was a hiker as there is a path up there. Then I realized it was actually our backyard and not a hiker, but a deer – three of them munching on something good. We watched them (watching us) for a little bit before they (effortlessly) hopped over the fence and went on their way. Seeing all this wildlife is such a stark contrast to all the other houses I’ve ever lived in. It’s so neat for us to look out and realize there’s something *right* there! The kids are always thrilled as well.
Overly friendly, Scout tried to make friends with a jackrabbit yesterday. Except the jackrabbit was about 2 feet tall and really fast. The largest rabbit I’ve ever seen! He totally could have taken Scout had he caught up to him.
Do you see wildlife where you live?
